So I got Swine Flu last Wednesday. On Friday, in the middle of the night, I got up while violently shaking, and passed out cold on the floor. This woke up my roommate who woke up our other roommate for help. Roommate number three then passed out (for reasons that are still a mystery to us all). Thankfully Annette came over several hours later to sanitize the apartment, force-feed me, and take me to the doctor for the second time in 24 hours so he could tell me I broke my hand when I fainted. Apart from being freaked out about this news, I was very interested in convincing the doctor that I wasn't a drug seeker while still ensuring the maximum amount of drug prescriptions. Because I was successful in this, I haven't been sober in four days (including now).
Overall a pretty crappy weekend. And yes, I did just type all that with my left hand. Good thing finals aren't coming up. Oh wait . . .
~It Just Gets Stranger
I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry. Wasn't it your last post in which you were TRYING to catch the swine flu? With the nasty little beasty germs running through our family right along with strep, I know very well how not fun it is. Sorry about your hand. Hope it gets better soon. Do you think they'll still excuse you from your class work. "Um, teacher, I broke my hand because of swine flu and now I can't write or type!"
ReplyDeleteUm...I think you need to be done with having the swine flu RIGHT NOW. I've never seen you so low-energy! Nancy and I left your apartment a little sad the other night because you just weren't yourself. So you need to be done with the swine flu so WE feel better, okay? And you need to tell us if there is anything you need. Okay, I can't think of anything else to tell you to do. Gloomy or not though, it was good to see you again.

ReplyDeleteImpressive, typing with one hand! Sorry to hear the news. Glad you got the help you need. They just changed my antibiotic now that the lab tests came back + for strep. The wimpy office test came back - but boy did my throat hurt!
