I had a weird night. I'll tell you about it next week if I haven't blocked the whole thing.
And now, your pictures and distractions.
After several days of [whining] "I'm too old for Halloween! I'm not dressing up!" Kurt spent an inordinate amount of time making this happen. |
And with great effort, I fit into Bob's disturbingly small 1972 Navy clothes. Trick-or-treating was AWESOME this year. |
Then we ran into Jolyn at a party. She was, you didn't guess it, "Catty Potter." |
Here's a picture of O2 this morning. He used to be about four times this size. |
I saw North America in the clouds in central Utah last weekend! |

Stranger Picture of the Week
From Jandy, taken in California. In Palau this would have just said, "Open sometimes. Uh-oi. It's hot." |
Crap to distract you from whatever you're supposed to be doing:
Freaky talking porcupine. THIS IS WHY I HATE ANIMALS. Thanks, Magan.
Why you should have kids. Thanks, Francie.
A Halloween-appropriate dating site. Thanks, Garrett.
My soul-mate. Thanks, Brittany.
This could almost get me to stop eating cheese. Unless it was made from Paul Simon. Thanks Juni.
And some Onion for you. Thanks, Brad.
~It Just Gets Stranger
Is that store sign on a MJ shop? Since it became legal in CO the shops are everywhere and I've seen at least one with a very similar sign.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THAT TALKING PORCUPINE!!
ReplyDeleteI made the blog! Yes!!
ReplyDeleteThat actually looks a lot like a humming bird to me (your alleged picture of north america).
ReplyDeleteI love the Craigslist advertisement! My name is Amanda. I come from the era of lots of Amandas. (Three in my grade all the way through elementary school, and it got worse in middle and high school.) My best friend growing up was also named Amanda, which got confusing at times. But since her middle name started with "L" I called her Al. And because of one of our favorite songs, she called me Betty. Paul Simon has always been one of my favorite artists, so I understand your obsession, Eli!
ReplyDeleteI think Kurt wins costume of the year.
ReplyDeleteSecond this.
DeleteNo way! Jolyn totally wins. Hahahaha. Catty Potter. Soooo clever. Hahahahaha.
DeleteKurt wins most time, Jolyn wins biggest stretch of the imagination, Eli wins most...well we all see what category he wins.
DeleteIs he Edward Scissorhands?
DeleteDoes anyone out there have a used pair of shoes size 7? must have diamonds on the soles
ReplyDeletePeople will say you're crazy if you've got diamonds on the soles of your shoes.
DeleteWell, at least that's one way to lose those walking blues.
DeleteEli, we're a little disappointed you didn't dress up as a life size ringworm in memory of your long lost loved one. This year, Tash went as a communist and I went as McCarthy. She would hide around town and I'd have to track down her associates and break them (mentally) until they gave me her location. It was a lot of fun. Although I dare say we may have lost some close friends who thought we took things a little too seriously. People just don't know what getting into character is all about.
ReplyDeleteLike the old saying goes, "if you're not willing to lose all your friends over a game, you're not playing hard enough."
DeleteI like that you can see 3 (maybe 4!) lamps in the background of the picture of Kurt!
ReplyDeleteI noticed that too! What is by his feet that look like giant brown crayons?
DeleteHa. You can't see the other several in that room. Mama Bear, those are pots. And evidence that I have bought way too much crap in Mexico.
DeleteEli you just need an Indian, Cowboy, Police Officer and Construction Worker to make that outfit complete.
ReplyDeleteWhat did the QofC dress as? And for goodness sake, where is Daniel?! Did he dress as a Cat that talks like a human?
ReplyDeleteChallenge: Today is the first day NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). Do you think you can write a 50,000 word book in 30 days?
ReplyDeleteNo
DeleteIs K-Man giving haircuts? 'Cause I'd like to schedule an appointment.
ReplyDeleteGreat costumes! For someone who didn't want to dress up, Kurt sure went all out.
ReplyDeleteIn the picture of O2 I can see the reflection of at least two - possibly/probably more - lamps in the glass, Eli. That's two lamps on one surface alone. It's no longer hard to believe you own another dozen of them (that is, if the Lamp Family hasn't further multiplied since October, which I highly doubt). Clearly Kurt hasn't got a handle on your hoarding problem yet. Given his connection to the medical profession, I'm disappointed.
