I Think I'm Losing It

Two times in a row now I have put my clothes in the washer, dumped the soap in, and then walked away without starting it or even closing the lid. Yesterday I walked back over to it a couple hours later to move the clothes over to the dryer and I saw blue streaks all over my whites and thought I had just stained all my whites somehow; then I realized that the streaks were not stains but soap that had not yet been used to wash the clothes.

Why is this happening?

On a side note, I've been having a strange tingling sensation in my back just below my left shoulder blade off and on for about a month. Any idea what this could be? I think I have it narrowed down to diabetes, MS, tuberculosis, scabies, shingles, and/or plague (I can't tell yet but there may be dark spots forming in the area). But seriously, any ideas on this? It may just be some kind of power that tells me when fortune is coming. Or tragedy. Hopefully it's fortune though.~

  1. I would say it's definitely some sort of horrible terminal disease...or it could just be a pinched nerve you silly boy! I used to get that sensation in my neck when my muscles would get all tense when I was stressed out. Try doing some stretches or getting a kind friend (preferably female!) to give you a deep back rub. You'll probably find you have a nice big knot there. Good luck...you crazy kid!

  2. Hmm, sounds like S-T-R-E-S-S to me. When s-t-r-e-s-s happens to me I loose sleep, don't eat right, get disoriented at times, have strange aches, and forget things. It's a vicious cycle.

Take to gut-belly laughter pills, go to bed early, and call me in the morning :-)

Seriously, though, hope you figure out what the mystery tingling is.

  3. You know, when Blaine would get like that when he was at about your stage of life, people would tell him he needed a good roll...uh, hum...not the kind you eat for Thanksgiving dinner. The washing machine is clearly telling you that it's time for a good woman in your life. :-)

As for the shoulder thing, a visit to a chiropractor should take care of it.

  4. Eli!! It has got to be West Nile Virus!!! Actually maybe it's just from stress...when I get stressed the muscles in my shoulders and back do strange things too.

Also, that is quite strange about the washer...I don't see how you could be having that problem it's not like you have anything going on in your life right now!

  6. Oh, sweet Eli. I'm with you -- it's definitely a terminal illness. One that will cause you to lay in a hospital bed for months while family and friends take turns sitting with you for hours on end, telling you how wonderful you are and to just hang on for another day. At least that's what I thought my twitches and tingles were for years, until I finally went to the doctor because I had experienced twitches and tingles in virtually every part of my body. After several full physicals, including intensive blood work and a couple of MRIs, my doctor finally told me to stop calling him for the next five years because I'm as healthy as a horse -- just stressed out!!! Fortunately, I have really good health insurance! But, in the end, it was all just stress... and, if you're forgetting to turn on the washer, it's definitely stress... I used to leave the washer open all the time, too, and that's why I hired Herminda to do my laundry for me. Best money I spend each month!

  7. Well eli unfortunately I can tell you it isn't scabies or shingles because don't worry I have had both and neither of them were like that. Sorry.

  8. I just read half your blog...you still crack me up. Maida and I were in the same master's program at BYU, by the way. Small world! I'm glad to hear that you are doing well, and almost cried after looking at all of your pictures from Ukraine. I still haven't made it back...seems like a dream to me sometimes, too. Good luck with law school and the rest of life...now you'll have one more blog reader keeping track of you. :)
