Pictures from my Phone & Weekly Distractions

I'm back in town and things have slowed down again. FYI, I've had a sore throat for about two weeks so I expect to be dead any day now. Will someone please make sure O2 gets enough water after I pass? And keep Kurt and Anna Swayne away from him. Also, all of those VHS tapes of recorded Full House episodes in my closet aren't mine. Same with the slap bracelets that appear to have been recently purchased.

And now, your pictures and distractions.

Beach in San Felipe, Mexico.

Jugs of something at the border in Mexico. I saw a man stir the yellow one with his arm. Who does he think he is? ME?

In San Felipe

We refer to this place as "Shigella's." Because Will got Shigella here once. FROM EATING FOOD THAT HAD HUMAN POOP IN IT. And then he BROUGHT KRISHELLE AND ME TO THIS PLACE AND DIDN'T TELL US WHAT HAD HAPPENED TO HIM HERE UNTIL AFTER WE ATE.

I've missed Will's dogs. You know I don't like animals. But I think this one and I knew each other in a former life.

Crap to distract you from whatever you're supposed to be doing:

Portraits of people with a leaf blower aimed at their faces. Thanks, Brian.

Some good product reviews about knives. Thanks, Emma.

Here. The Hunger Games recast with cats. Thanks, Josiphine.

Men and their pets. Especially number 10. Thanks, Myke.

A workout video to help get you motivated. TO MAKE FUN OF PEOPLE. Thanks, Alison.

Re-creating childhood photos. Thanks, Krishelle.

Someone please figure this out and then explain to me why I spent ten minutes of my life on it. Thanks, Amy.

Guy plants googly eyes on things at Target. Thanks, Brianna.

More cats in tights. Thanks, Francie.

Terrible breakup texts. Thanks, Magan.

And, finally, clown dating. Thanks Brianna.

  1. Are your friends in Palau OK after the typhoon?

    1. Yes! Thank you for asking. Fortunately the typhoon wasn't nearly as strong in Palau as it was in the Philippines. My friends report that there was some damage here and there (like the one we had last year) but nobody was hurt and things were up and running again very quickly after the storm passed. I'm heartbroken for those who weren't so fortunate just east of Palau.

    2. Good to hear! I was wondering that, too.

  2. I can do you one better - I have several seasons of Full House on DVD. And I purchased them with my own money.

  3. I'm in the same boat, I've had a terrible cold going on three weeks. Try zinc and echinacea. They've done studies, you know. Sixty percent of the time, it works, every time. Not to mention, between the Full House VHS tapes that aren't yours and the Pog collection that isn't mine, there is no way our friends will be able to handle all that 90s awesomeness.

  4. So, um . . . have you, like, already willed those vhs tapes to someone?

  5. To my knowledge, Anne Wheaton (wife of actor/writer Wil Wheaton) invented "Vandaleyes" (which is the adherence of googly eyes to previously un-vandalized faces).

And I really thought the Clown Dating site was a fake, until I watched the linked Ellen clip.

I'm going to see if my agent will book the leaf-blower photographer for our next headshot photo shoot. Yeah.

  7. I was really worried that you were going to die in Mexico, but I was thinking it would be at the hands of a drug cartel, not due to the poor dining recommendations of your family!

Also, I've never done the drugs, but if I did, I feel like I would really appreciate Amy's strange link. It actually kind of makes me want to do the drugs, but I have no idea where one gets them.... eh, guess I'll just watch some Nick at Nite instead! (ps - Full House is on Nick st Nite now, doesn't that make you feel old???)

  8. Wow. I've just finished reading ALL of your blog, in its entirety. Your 'Mom' blog, too. I first heard of you 3 1/2 weeks ago. I don't read blogs. They're boring. I like paranormal fiction and SciFi. I purposely do not read real life because they rarely have happy endings. I seem to need happy endings. I heard of you on Facebook, got curious, read one entry, and then read from the beginning. I feel like I've read one of the best books I've ever read, and now I will check to read each entry here on out. (Highest praise that I can give.) I still am not sold on reading blogs, but you Eli, you're pretty cool. -H
