Pictures from my Phone & Weekly Distractions

Late last night I got home from some shenanigans with friends and realized that I didn't take any pictures with my phone this week. This caused me a great amount of stress because Pictures from my Phone & Weekly Distractions Eve had already arrived. So instead of skipping this week, I just took five awkward selfies of me in a Snuggie at midnight.

YOU'RE WELCOME.

Stranger Picture of the Week
The Queen of Colors hits England. Where she is apparently royal blue. Thanks, Star.

Crap to distract you from whatever you're supposed to be doing:

This is so incredible that I can't believe it's real. Watch lip-syncing of Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone." Scroll through the channels as the song plays. It will blow your mind. Thanks, Brian.

Personal trainer debunks "before and after" weight loss pictures. Thanks, Steve.

Detention slips that rock. Thanks, Jenny.

The best way to learn a new language. Thanks, Rebecca.

Numbers 6 and 23? Is that Kurt? Thanks, Chrissy.

Terrible sign translations. (Some bad language). Thanks, Francie.

Cats vs. male models. Thanks, Michonn.

Perfectly timed photos. Thanks, Brad.

100 people from 0-100 years old saying their age in German. I don't know why, but I really liked this. Thanks, Brian.

Historical figures share Instagram photos. Thanks, Nicole.

  1. I stared so long at that last picture trying to figure out what is coming out of the snuggie beside your head and finally decided it must be Axel.

    1. i couldn't figure it out either... maybe a mannequin leg or a stuffed giraffe.
On a completely unrelated note the clock in the background of that picture is the same one hanging on my wall right now.

    1. Jon, are you a friend of Eli's? I hope so. Because I think it would be super rude if some weird guy constantly felt the need to put him down on his blog. I keep hoping that you are friends and you are teasing him.

    2. I thought I was playing off the running joke in which scads of weird girls compliment Eli on his hair. I guess I should have realized how emotionally fragile he is. My apologies, Eli. I'm immensely jealous of your lucious head of hair.

    3. Actually, jon, after I read your first comment I shaved my head and replaced my hair with a tattoo of a lion jumping through a ring of fire.

    4. I would have gone with a dolphin jumping over a craggy fjord, but I hope you know that I would never hurt your feelings on porpoise.

  5. The ages are spoken in Dutch, not German, and I really liked it as well.

  7. The detention slips rock... I want those students in my class :-)

With your complexion Eli, I'd go for a hunter green snuggie. Blue is nice, but red heads rock the hunter green. Just sayin'

  9. I vote to keep at least one selfie for Pictures on Friday every week, as long as they are awkward. :)

  11. I think I'm the most distressed about the fact that the Queen of Colors has apparently made it to England.

  12. My goodness, you look quite dashing in your snuggie. As you know, that is not an easy achievment. I vote that awkward selfies be a part of weekly distractions every week

  13. I'd be willing to donate a slightly used blue, tie-dye snuggie to you, if you're interested. The navy just looks so dull. (The one I have was a Christmas gift that my cats have been sleeping on for a few years. And I may have worn it a time or two when my MIL has been here.) I'll even wash the cat fur off before I send it. :)

  14. You totally look like the muppet Beaker in the fourth photo. He's my favorite muppet so that's a compliment! You're welcome!
