Pictures from my Phone & Weekly Distractions

Daniel drove me into work this morning. This was the entirety of our conversation:

Daniel: Are you cranky again this morning?

Eli: I'M NOT CRANKY!!! I'M NEVER CRANKY IN THE MORNINGS! SHUT UP!

Daniel: Do you ever feel like a plastic bag drifting through the wind wanting to start again?

Eli: No. Please not this again.

Daniel: Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin, like a house of cards, one blow from caving in?

Eli: I can't do it today. Please no Katy Perry right now. Or ever.

Daniel: [singing now] You just gotta ignite the light and let it shine. Just own the night like the 4th of July. CAUSE BABY YOU'RE A FIREWORK! COME ON SHOW--

It was at this point that I opened the passenger side door of the moving vehicle and rolled out onto the street.

And now, your pictures and distractions:
Some of the church kids watching Daniel teach them about CPR.

Somehow I have not mentioned this lady to you, even though she and her husband have been a big part of my life in Palau. This is "sister" Johnsen and she and her husband are Mormon missionaries in Palau. They have become a couple of my closest friends in Palau and after being here for 18 months, they are about to head back to the U.S. in 2 weeks. I will cry my eyes out when this happens. Although it will be nice to not have to lose at game night with them week after week anymore.

Crap to distract you from whatever you're supposed to be doing

Some incredibly weird and unexplained black and white photos. This might be my new favorite thing on the entire Internet. Thanks, Candice.

I am certain you will participate in this much longer than you should. Thanks, James.

Nice work, government of China!

A woman kills her husband over a cat. But she lives in Siberia, so she shouldn't be held responsible for anything she does.  Thanks, Jade.

  2. You can't blame the Chinese too much for that one. I know for a fact BYU stooped to that level prepping for graduation.

    1. It's true, I have watched them do it! It's crazy, but it looks good.

  4. That is why I wouldn't carpool when I worked. I am not a morning person. I drove a lady to work with me one week when her car was getting fixed. Nice enough lady, but talk talk talk talk talk. I could barely keep my sanity. I like to have my own time in the morning to work.

  5. WATERMELON!

those b&w photos are awesome. We need to use more barrels in life.

And many thanks for the Katy Perry song stuck in my head.

  6. Things were confusing when there was no colour. Especially #12. Not sure if the kid is peeing on the Queen of Colours or if that pecker has him by his pecker. It's too early to be looking at confusing things.

The other articles were interesting too.
    Thanks Eli!

  8. Yay! I'm so happy! I feel like a celebrity, I had my link posted on stranger! I think this just goes that everybody deserves a litte bit of 'once up the barrel, twice down the side' in their life!

  10. Does Palau do daylight savings time? Because I'm cranky every morning but THIS morning especially. Who gave the government the right to take an hour of sleep from me?! (It's ok when they give me an extra hour, though.)
I'm just glad mostly everyone else at church today was similarly cranky and half asleep so we could all just ignore each other and go home to nap.
