Pictures from my Phone & Weekly Distractions

Tonight we had a little party on the beach. Daniel has been doing an internship with the Attorney General of Palau, an American woman who has taken Daniel under her wing recently. Yes, Daniel is doing EVERYTHING one can do on this island right now. I do not understand how he has enough time in the day for all of it.

Anyway, at the party tonight the AG approached me and told me that he's doing a great job and they are so lucky to have him in their office. I then asked her to please let me know if there is anything I can do to help him at home. And as she walked away I realized that I now know exactly what it's like to go to parent-teacher conferences. It's so fulfilling to have a 25 year old man-child.

And now, your pictures and distractions:

Sunrise from my apartment.

Passover dinner with all the Jewish friends. The only reason I'm posting this picture is to prove once and for all to all you haters out there that I DO own more than one shirt.

Waterfall from a distance, deep in the jungle.

Crap to distract you from whatever you're supposed to be doing:

Old people wearing vegetation. Thanks, Joanna.

Ultra-rich Russians hire ambulances to drive them around.  Thanks, Matt.

Least helpful reviews. Thanks, Katie.

The absolute worst pictures of men and their cats. Thanks, Shea.

Questions Disney forgot to answer about Beauty and the Beast.

Visa phone prank. Thanks, Judith.

  1. At least you know now not to bring Trixy to the Kroger in Toledo, OH. Apparently they are not cat-friendly. Also, Disney has now made me question my childhood.

  3. Funny enough, I have often thought it was like Daniel had let his considerably younger brother tag along with him on this trip..... :-)

  5. I can't believe you get those pictures on your phone. I'm lucky when I can actually tell what I took a picture of.

    1. I couldn't get the Visa phone prank either, but even trying to Google the page it didn't work. I think it's the website's fault :/

    2. Oh no! It was working for a day or two but seems to have run into some problems. I'll leave the link up for a bit and see if they get it fixed.

  8. I want to eat your photos. All of your sunset/sunrise and waterfall photos. Oh, here is some back-story.

Maurice Sendal, author of "Where the Wild Things Are" said, “Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I answer all my children’s letters — sometimes very hastily — but this one I lingered over. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, “Dear Jim: I loved your card.” Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.” That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it.”
