The Car Accident Videos

Jolyn Metro has used technology from 1974 to provide us video proof on what the kids are calling "the Youtubes" that we recently visited The Porch. At Stranger, we only go in reverse when it comes to technology so this time we used a camera with AN ACTUAL VIDEO TAPE INSIDE OF IT to record the story I told at The Porch a couple of weeks ago. I'm not even kidding. Jolyn basically had to practice black magic and sell her soul to the devil to get that thing from the camera to the Youtubes.

Joke's on the devil, though. Jolyn's soul is going to burn Hell down come April Fools' Day. So he'll be sorry.

Here it is, in two parts: Videos that were recorded two weeks ago but that look like they're straight out of The Bob Hope Show.

Note: I hate the "still" shot on the second video below with every fiber of my being.

  1. Well, I'm glad you didn't turn around because I'm pretty sure The First Eye was hanging right behind you.

  2. Eli, Tash and I just watched your videos as we were not fortunate to attend your show that night (let's just say your explosive diarrhea bit was fairly relevant). We like you even more! And how uncanny is this; I had a similar hero experience when a seagull flew into my windshield and I had to give it mouth to mouth. The unfortunate part of my story is apparently seagulls don't intake as much oxygen as us humans do, so in my Good Samaritaning, I accidentally burst the poor guy's lungs. Ah well. Win some and lose some. Glad yours survived.

  4. I'm actually really impressed with your storytelling skill and comic timing, Eli! Sometimes writing skill doesn't translate to live action very well but you appear to be multitalented. Not to mention your TV-gleaned diagnostic skills!

  5. The whole segment in the second video about giving birth is one of the funniest things I have ever heard. Seriously impressed.

  6. As a Southern woman in Utah I'm a little appalled that your Southern woman wasn't carrying fried chicken!

  9. hilarious! love your stories!

apparently fire trucks have to report to every scene like that. not sure why, but when i was hit by a car years ago, we got a fire truck, an ambulance, two cop cars, and two cops on motorcycles. it must have been a slow day for them... but the fire truck surprised me. that's when i was told they have to show up.

  11. the really amazing part of this whole thing is that you found a camera and tape to use... i had no clue those things still existed!

  12. Fire trucks usually carry first responders on them and they try to be there as soon as possible to help stabilize the injured party quickly and in case the ambulance is delayed by traffic or something.

  13. Eli, you were rocking that vest. To fully convey my feelings about it, please watch this brief video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e2EXmlzLGY So sorry to have missed you at The Porch!

  14. You know Jolyn can choose the video display picture, right? (i mean, I know your answer, but I'll leave the question up as a form of explanation.)

  15. God bless Eli. I was worried that I had oversold it to my husband as a comedy event. I mean, the bits were nice, but not terribly funny, at least until your friend Jolyn got up. She was funny, along with the blond girl with the glasses and you were fantastic. It turned into a really fun evening.

  16. Thanks Jolyn Metro for your wonderful creation. Basically You tubes become a common video site for internet browser. We got a better digital quality video through out it. All we know that and this is cleared from the above car video through YouTube.

After see the above car accident video I shocked. It is not new for us but when we see or listen such type of incident we usually disturbed for some time. Because many got dead or injured due to car accident. Porsche Mechanic Irving

  17. It is too bad no one recorded Jolyn's participation at the show because it was also noteworthy. The whole show was a pee-fest (no explosive diarrhea and, even if it did happen, I wouldn't admit to it). Worth every penny! And it was awesome to meet you and Jolyn. Truly an A-list celebrity experience!
