Pictures from my Phone & Weekly Distractions

Matt texted me yesterday and told me that Stranger "looks like Microsoft 1995" and that this was unacceptable and I should be ashamed of myself and shouldn't show my face in public anymore. He pointed out that half the gadgets don't work, the fonts are unacceptable, and the whole thing is completely devoid of color and happiness. Then he told me he is going to "fix" it.

Matt is an insanely talented artist and graphic designer and I'm lucky to have him because I don't know how to Internet OR computer OR art. He started fiddling around with some things last night and we accidentally saved the changes so if you're wondering why everything suddenly looks a little different, that's why. And you can expect to see a very dramatic remodel in the near future. Please be as vocal and angry about these impending changes as possible.

If there's one thing Strangers share, it's our refusal to accept any kind of change whatsoever. Also, oatmeal cookies and a hating Glee.

And now, your Pictures and Distractions:
Don't worry. Many more pictures from this ridiculous photo shoot will be coming your way soon.

Mr. Pants looking for cats out the window!

I was doing yard work all day on Saturday and Mr. Pants was not pleased.

Matt put Mr. Pants's king costume on him the other night. One of these days he's going to snap and attack us like the bunny from Monty Python and The Holy Grail.

  1. While I hate all change no matter what always, I do like the new font choice.

  2. The mobile version still looks completely the same and I HATE that you don't care about us people us who only read your blog on our phones because we have notifications set to go off each time you post something new. Also I'm finally going to say it, pictures and distractions was supposed to come out Friday morning to distract us after we made it through a whole week of work (or unemployment, as the case may be), but they have been slipping earlier and earlier into Thursday since I don't know when. ... Probably when Daniel left, and now because my notifications have been going off Thursdays I have nothing to distract myself with Friday mornings at work/unemployment because no self control. So if you could go back to posting these Friday between 0900-1100 MST (9am-11am) that would be swell!

Sincerely, I really hope anonymous works and you don't know know who I am because otherwise I'm so sorry, you post these wherever you'd like, we are so blessed to have Stranger at all who am I to be making demands.

    2. YEAH ELI!

This was almost a 10/10 post Anon, but you ruined it with apologies in the last paragraph. You had me busting a gut in the first part though. Probably because it's so true. SOME OF US DON'T HAVE ANY SELF CONTROL ELI!!! Have some feelings for the addicted.

  3. Ah! It looks the same on my phone. I need to get on my computer, STAT!

Also, you HAVE to continue showing your face in public. Hair like yours should not be hidden from the world. You offer a public service every time you step outside, because viewing your hair automatically improves one's day 23%.

  4. Wait, I'm confused by your verbiage. Do We or do We not like oatmeal cookies? And if We have to like them, do We have to like them with raisins? Because the raisins are either like little bits of bitter tar secretly snuck inside to break your teeth AND glue them back together (but not in the correct way, no sir) OR they have the texture of a giant squishy bug which then makes me wonder if it IS actually a raisin or if it just isn't a fresh cookie. And either way, that puts me in a completely wrong state of mind for cookie enjoyment. Can We enjoy them with icing instead? That would probably be acceptable at least on a rare occasion, but never trumping the enjoyment of a Chocolate Chip Cookie.

    4. Lee don't you try tricking me into like Oatmeal cookies, they don't deserve the honored title of COOKIE because they are really just fruit & fiber cereal disguised as a cookie.

    1. I remember the good ol' days of yore when that was Times New Roman, all proper like. 'Twas a dark day when my eyes wandered upon the current monstrosity for the very first time.

  6. "Pictures from my phone & weekly distractions"?! More like "Make all the peoples seethe with rage from this new website get-up"! Horrid. I refuse to accept this change.

  7. OMG IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL HERE NOW!! Matt is so awesome. I can't wait to see how he fixes everything.

    And oatmeal cookies are AWESOME!

That being said...Glee is true and pure evil x infinity + 1.

And lastly, art comes in many forms Eli. Now be prepared I'm actually going to compliment you. Get your camera's ready. :) Your talent for decorating is considered an art form, and you're very good at it.

Phew...there I said it. I don't think I exploded. I'll have to keep an eye on myself for a while just in case.

    1. Dude, as long as your volunteering, my house looks like a crazy old cat ladies home...minus the cats, the key is under the mat, let yourself in and decorate away.

  11. At least your site wasn't so Microsoft 1995 that your font was Comic Sans MS.

  12. I am so happy that you posted it. I love those blocks and the woman who made them for me. It was your blog that really sealed the bond of our friendship.

  13. I would just like to say, as the woman who made those blocks, that having a picture of my crafts feature on your blog is my greatest accomplishment to date. Garner from that what you will. But thanks so much for posting!!

  14. The wood blocks are AWESOME. The changes on the page--get off my lawn. I'm too old for change. I love Comic Sans. I use it in all my handouts and exams (for COLLEGE classes... mwhahaha you hipsters! Your final exams are all comic!). It's friendly and non-threatening (I teach calculus and other stuff with all sorts of Greek letters in it, which are threatening enough). So there.

And I just got assigned the RELISH TRAY for our Thanksgiving gathering. I'm sure it is has nothing to do with my cooking ability but rather because I can be trusted to bring enough black olives for everyone's fingers (hey, math applied in the real world!)! And I like GREEN OLIVES, too. So there.

And still love the blog. Even if y'all keep messing with it. So there.
