Pictures from my Phone & Weekly Distractions

I texted Rebecca yesterday to tell her that I decided not to eat gluten this week in order to prove to her that gluten allergies aren't real. She responded that this didn't make sense and that my not eating gluten could never prove that there is no such thing as gluten allergies. I insisted she was wrong about this. But now I'm starting to second-guess myself because I haven't eaten anything that tastes like food in four days and I'm starving and angry and I can't see or think anymore OMG THIS MUST BE HOW REBECCA FEELS ALL THE TIME!

And now, your Pictures & Distractions:
John Michael got me to go to my first ever tailgate party. Apparently there was some sort of sports game event after. It was very cold. I complained a lot.

We Christmased! Well, Skylar did. I mostly just watched.

Sometimes I think Mr. Pants might be on drugs.

Two of my favorite finds from Belgrade earlier this year.

Stranger Picture of the Week

Inspired by this week's post regarding my photo shoot with the Pantses, Michelle sent a number of pictures she and her roommate took in 2004 with their pets. She informed me, "the ferrets clearly stole the show. They're practically models."

Crap to distract you from whatever you're supposed to be doing:

My Survivor recap this week, hosted by TV & Jelly.

"No way to prevent this," says only nation where this regularly happens.

Homophobic Tumblr post transformed into a dystopian adventure novel. Thanks, Skylar.

OMG I need this for Christmas. Thanks, Margee.

Updated "Fire and Rain." Thanks, Christy.

Read the second Dear Abby letter. Thanks, Andrea.

Vegas selfie video guy gets a redo. Thanks, Jocelyn.

Chicken tank-tops. Thanks, Judy.

  1. I had seen the onion headline and skipped the article when it showed up in my Facebook feed. Read it just now and discovered that the onion, in their mighty wisdom, just REPRINT the same damn article EVERY DAMN TIME this happens, changing only the facts (and the "neighbor") as needed. I am a newsphobe for a reason, Strangers. It's not like I'm not going to learn about the evils in the world; I choose to skip the media version. Now I can't even read the onion. Thanks a lot.

    1. And then Skylar restores my faith in humanity. Thanks, Skylar. I want off heterosexual island! :)

  2. That dystopian (and apparently my browser doesn't think "dystopian" is a word and wants me to change it to "utopian"...what are you trying to say, exactly, Mr. Google Chrome?!) adventure story is awesome and needs to happen. I just wish I knew what island I'd be sent to. That would seriously affect my part in the storyline.

  3. Laughing so hard at those ferrets. Ferret modeling is clearly an untapped market.

    1. Not to mention the cat. Just look at it's "get me the f*** out of here" eyes. Awesome picture Michelle.

    3. It's amazing how popular ferrets are. My daughter has two that she features in her blog "The Book Ferret". She has 25,000 followers!

  4. Ok, first you leave your ONLY TRUE CANADIAN FRIEND high and dry last week during your "Thanksgiving/Black Friday" 2 day off fiasco. I mean, what kind of nut has Thanksgiving in November? We have Thanksgiving in October during a decent time of the year when people can actually leave their homes and not freeze to death, especially when waiting in line to buy stuff the next day.

THEN...than...no it's then I'm sure of it...THEN, you give me leftover island links to some crazy lesbian/gay/bisexual/hetero orgy that Skylar gave you. And what about Ollie and Trixie? Which island are they supposed to live on? I MEAN WHAT KIND OF WORLD IS THIS THAT YOU'RE TRYING TO TRICK ME TO LIVE IN!?!?

And WEDNESDAY, you post pictures of you and MATT (yeah I'm looking at you Matt...with scorn...SCORN!). Are you trying to hurt me? We used to have something good going, and now I just feel used.

Good day to you sir. I SAID GOODDAY!!!

    1. Lee - has the weather been bad where you are? It's unseasonably warm here. Last year we had a blizzard the week of Thanksgiving and the snow NEVER WENT AWAY until July 21st. Tomorrow there is supposed be a high in the mid-50s - it's completely weird!

    2. Oh!!! And I bet your shoes are better than Matt's . . . .just sayin'

    3. No it's actually nice here right now. Probably about the same, mid-50's. It's because we're getting another strong El Nino. It causes the northern regions of North America to be warmer. Last time we got one of these this strong was the winter of 97/98.

But normally it's already around 10. The heavy duty cold comes around January/February.

And I'm wearing Keen's. They're comfy, but look more like a hiking runner. So I'm stylin' the hiker look. Take that MATT!

    4. I'm starting to think that Lee isn't really Canadian. He's a little too feisty...

    5. Remember, I'm french Canadian. Rebecca is part french. We can be a feisty bunch.

Is Lee Eli, or is Eli Lee? I just blew your mind.

    6. I now have a theory that this whole blog is a conspiracy of one person pretending to be Eli AND Lee and maybe a few other people also.....is this blog real?? Is the internets even real?!? And what about the QoC?!?!?! I feel like my whole life is a lie......at least I know The mom blog isn't a lie, I mean how could someone come up with that crazy of a lie?

  12. About the islands...
I thought 'groups of one" meant one person in each group. And with one person, even the hetero-island will produce no off-spring.
