Something weird be happening on the Internet.

Two things:

First of all, we've announced our next Strangerville Live! Come join us in Salt Lake City on March 6 at 8:00 PM. I'm hosting (possibly entirely through song) and we'll be featuring four other storytellers:

Inventor of the circus
Inventor of water polo
Inventor of the cartwheel
Vocal anti-inventor

Please come. We'll be at Kiln (at the Gateway)--same as last time. It's fun. I promise. Everyone comes empty handed but leaves with a hug.

Get tickets HERE.

In other news, I wrote an article about how our perceptions of online dating have dramatically changed over time. I even included five adorable photos of Skylar without his consent. Please go check that out HERE.

And, finally, I know I said there were only two things, but here's a bonus. Something weird be happening on this one part of the internet recently.

  2. Comment about online dating: I met my husband via Yahoo Personals in 1998 (I was like 2 at the time). People FREAKED OUT! Told me I couldn't have him come to my apartment to pick me up (which I did), that only mass murderers pick up girls online (I think this also implied that I was desperate), and that there was NO WAY anything he told me was true (wouldn't that work both ways?).

We've now been together for almost 22 years - this April will have been married for 20. If he's a mass murderer he's working the long game with me.

It has been interesting to me to see how the perception of online dating has evolved over the years. What was freakishly taboo 22 years ago is completely normal now. I guess that makes me a trend setter :).
