Pictures from my Phone & Weekly Distractions

Happy weekend, all. A huge thanks to those who came out to The Porch last night and said hello. It was fun to meet some of you. And due to recent accusations from some of you, I tried to be SUPER friendly and at one point Jolyn had to pull me aside and tell me that it's not ok to touch people I don't know and ask to try on their clothes. Maybe I'm just not cut out for this whole "interaction with others" thing.

And now, your pictures and distractions:

Axel is dying! Unfortunately he is not taking all of my freckles with him.

One of the last Saturdays at the SLC Farmers' Market.

Last Sunday was Fakesgiving! And I made most of this! And nobody got sick this year! Or ringworm!

In Park City. I'm happy Kurt didn't live through the '60s.

With my home-girl Emma at something called "The Three Bean Circus." We were uncomfortable most of time because of the creepy people dancing in spandex right next to our table.

This is my favorite thing I brought back from Palau (other than memories! Haha. Just kidding. I didn't bring back good memories). These were left on a beach from a Survivor competition so I snagged a few and they are now my hip coasters.

Crap to distract you from whatever you're supposed to be doing:

Brides throwing cats. Thanks, MANY of you (Zach was the first).

I doubt this would be effective against the Queen of Colors. Thanks, Melissa.

No thanks. I'll just stick with the infection.  Thanks, Debbie.

Get your cat stoned. I wonder if this would work on Kurt? Thanks, Shannon.

Then find out how to give your cat a massage! Thanks, Melissa.

Two hamsters, one wheel. Thanks, Trisha.

36 things you never realized everyone else does, too. Thanks, Paul.

The 90's Nostalgia Gallery. Thanks, K-Shell.

  1. Someone told me once that my freckles were angel kisses. She was a clown though. A fairly creepy clown.

So... Do with it what you will.

  2. I was in SLC this past Sunday - Wednesday and Park City on Tuesday (I live in Austin, TX). I'm not going to lie, I did keep my eyes peeled for you. But I returned home without an Eli spotting and a broken heart.

  3. My wife and I loved your Porch performance last night. I've been laughing all morning thinking about it. Thanks for that. And we thought you were very friendly. Especially when you tried to try on our clothes while we were still wearing them.

  5. Almost choked on my lunch while watching the hamsters. Made everyone (meaning one person) in the office watch it, too.

  6. I'm upset that you didn't ask to try my clothes on. I think the purple pants would have been a smash on you!

    1. She did record it. Haven't heard how it turned out or whether she'll be able to upload it to the Youtubes.

  9. Fun to meet SOME of you? Implying some were UN-FUN?! I resent that! I tried to be as fun as possible which was not a lot because it was past my bedtime.

  10. The hamsters win. That was a keyboard killer.

  11. Eli, I am so darn mad at myself.
I recently reread all of your posts in which you trained and participated in the Ironman, and some of the races you did in Palau. There's been many things over the past several week that have motivated me to get back in shape, but these were what made me want to fun again. So I tried it.
    And I totally failed.
I used to run a mile every morning, (yeah I know, not so impressive) and it was great - it made me feel great, and it kept me in fairly good shape.
Never in my life have I not been able to run a mile.
So last time, I started running, I was feeling good, (note: admittedly, I did forget to warm up a bit) and then BAM! Everything was wrong! I ended up walking almost 3/4 of the mile. And it makes me feel like I'm eighty years old.
I've decided to do some stationary biking and maybe some light weights before I go back to running, but still, it makes me feel like such a failure.

    1. Don't get yourself down about it. You will always have good days and bad days when training, the important thing is that you keep trying. I wish you luck with your running and I hope you reach your goals.
